Villa di Corlo Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC Amabile
A semi-sweet Lambrusco from what is probably the best Grasparossa vineyard in Italy – for all those who think of sparkling wine not as party champagne, but as tradition and terroir.
Villa di Corlo is located in Baggiovara near Modena, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. The winery is one of the few in the region that focuses exclusively on the indigenous Grasparossa grape variety – a Lambrusco variant that develops its typical structure on the hilly clay soils around Castelvetro: darker, richer in tannins, and more intensely aromatic than other Lambrusco types.
In the glass: deep red-violet with lively bubbles. On the nose, ripe black cherry, blackberry, and a hint of violet. On the palate, the Amabile's residual sweetness brings a soft fullness, balanced by the varietal acidity and light tannins – no cloying, but genuine interplay. The finish is short and fruity with a pleasant note of bitter cherry.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C . A classic accompaniment to Emilia-Romagna cuisine: mortadella, tigelle, Parmigiano Reggiano, or prosciutto di Parma. Also a convincing partner for fruity desserts such as crostata with sour cherry filling. An uncomplicated aperitif for social gatherings.
