Tonno all naturale

Tonno all naturale
Italian tuna all'naturale — tuna preserved in water or its own juices, without oil or additives. What matters is the fish itself: firm, fibrous flesh, mildly salty, with a pure, fresh taste of the sea, unmistakable.
In Italian cuisine, it plays a key role. In vitello tonnato, it forms the base of the sauce—together with capers, anchovies, and mayonnaise, it creates a velvety, intensely flavorful cream. In Niçoise salad, it holds its own alongside green beans, hard-boiled egg, and olives. As a tramezzino filling with capers and lemon, it works just as reliably. A dry Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi or a light Soave pairs well with it.
