The Botanist Islay Dry Gin - 1,5l Magnum bottle 1.5L

The Botanist is the gin from the Bruichladdich Distillery — known for their whiskies from Islay, but equally consistent in their approach to this Dry Gin. 22 of the 31 botanicals used are collected wild on Islay: apple mint, chamomile, thistle flowers, gorse flowers, and other herbs that grow on the island. Nine classic gin botanicals are added, including juniper, coriander, and angelica root.

In the glass, it shows a clear, silvery-bright color. On the nose, it opens with fresh mint, citrus zest, and forest flowers — a complex but never overloaded picture. On the palate, silky, with a clear citrus line, juniper in the background, and a long, slightly spicy finish with herbal depth.

In a Gin Tonic, it comes into its own best with a mild, floral tonic — cucumber or citrus zest as a garnish. For a dry Martini, it is a safe choice. Neat over ice with an orange zest, it shows what the Islay botanicals actually achieve. The 1.5-liter magnum bottle is suitable for home bar enthusiasts or as a guest gift.
