Teruzzi Vernaccia di San Gimignano

Vernaccia di San Gimignano is one of Italy's oldest white DOC appellations — and Teruzzi has been among its most reliable producers for decades. This wine demonstrates why the grape variety has maintained its place in Tuscany.

The Teruzzi winery is located near San Gimignano in the heart of Tuscany. Since the 1970s, it has played a key role in shaping the Vernaccia category and is now one of the most renowned producers of the appellation. Straw yellow with greenish reflections in the glass—typical for a varietal Vernaccia from this region.

On the nose, fresh fruit with delicate minerality and a hint of white peach and green apple. On the palate, powerful and structured, yet without heaviness: the acidity remains fresh and well-integrated. The finish brings the characteristic bitter aroma of almonds – a clear sign of varietal purity and excellent winemaking.

Serving suggestion: Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass, pasta with clams, ricotta crostini, or a light goat cheese. No need for long cellaring — drink now, until 2027.

Good and tasty wine!

The wine has a different label than shown, but is very good. Reminds us of the wines that still had the pictured label. Furthermore, Teruzzi&Puthod is no longer stated as the winemaker as before, b...

Teruzzi

Teruzzi – Tuscan wine with history. Founded in 1974 by Enrico Teruzzi and his wife Carmen Puthod, the winery is located about an hour's drive southwest of Florence. Today it belongs to the Terra Moretti Group – but the roots have remained. 180 hectares of land, 94 of which are vineyards. The soils of yellow sand and clay are loose, allowing the vines to root deeply. Warm summers, cool winters – ideal conditions for Sangiovese, Merlot, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, and Chardonnay. The wines mature in stainless steel or wood, with 1.2 million bottles produced annually. Tuscany that you can taste.
