Terre di Campo Sasso Primitivo di Manduria DOC
Primitivo di Manduria is one of the most characterful wines of Apulia — and this one shows why: dark fruity, spicy, with a velvety texture that never feels heavy despite its power.
Terre di Campo Sasso produces its wine in the Manduria region of southern Apulia, where the Primitivo grape has thrived for centuries on red limestone soils. The intense sunshine and dry summers contribute to the wine's characteristic fruit concentration. After hand-harvesting and maceration, the wine matures for up to six months in large barriques—long enough to soften the tannins without overpowering the fruity profile.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose offers ripe blackberry, plum, and a distinct hint of tobacco, underpinned by lavender and dried herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft tannins and moderate acidity that carries the long, slightly spicy finish.
