Taberner Tierra de Cadiz

Taberner Tierra de Cadiz
A red wine from Cádiz that shows what the Andalusian south is capable of: dark fruit, roasted aromas and a structure that needs time – and rewards it.
Bodegas Herta de Albala operates in the Tierra de Cádiz , one of the lesser-known appellations in southern Andalusia. The climate is warm and dry, influenced by the Atlantic wind – the Levante – which regulates ripening temperatures and preserves the freshness of the wines despite their southern location.
In the glass, the Taberner displays an almost black, dark red color. The nose offers aromas of blackberry and black cherry, with hints of mocha and coffee bean – the classic profile of a red wine aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from a hot terroir. On the palate, it is dense and full-bodied, with rounded tannins and a lingering finish with a subtle smoky note.
- Dishes: Leg of lamb with herbs, grilled beef steak, mature Manchego cheese
- Temperature: 17–18 °C
- Drinking window: now until 2033
Huerta de Albalá – this is Andalusia as it should be: wild, sun-drenched, and full of passion. Nestled between rolling hills and with views of the Sierra de Grazalema, the Taberner family created something special 25 years ago – a winery deeply rooted in the soil of Cádiz.
On 75 hectares, mainly Syrah, Merlot, and the rare Tintilla de Rota – an old Andalusian grape variety that you'll hardly find anywhere else – are cultivated. The wines mature in over 450 barrels made of French and American oak: patiently, by hand, with genuine character.
The result tastes of the south – opulent, warm, yet elegant.
