Spaghetti Turanici, organic

Spaghetti made from Turanico wheat – an ancient subspecies of durum wheat ( Triticum turgidum ), also known as Khorasan wheat. This variety is robust and disease-resistant, making it ideal for organic farming. This pasta comes from Italy and is certified organic.

Compared to modern durum wheat, Turanico has a clearly perceptible wheat aroma – clean, nutty, with a slight sweetness on the finish. Its color is characteristically light brown, and its texture after cooking is firm and grippy enough to hold sauces well.

Pairs well with simple tomato sauces, aglio e olio, or brown butter with sage – preparations that don't overpower its natural flavor. Wine pairing: a light Verdicchio or a dry rosé from southern Italy.
