Southern Valleys Pinot Noir

Southern Valleys Pinot Noir
A Pinot Noir that shows what New Zealand's Marlborough region can do beyond Sauvignon Blanc: cool, precise, with real depth.
Nautilus Estate is one of the established wineries of Marlborough. The grapes for the Southern Valleys Pinot Noir come from the side valleys of the same name south of Blenheim – cooler sites with longer ripening periods that give the Pinot Noir the necessary structure and freshness.
In the glass, medium ruby red. The nose is finely spicy and clear: violets, rose petals, dark cherry, and a hint of cassis. With some air, cocoa, black tea, and subtle roasted notes are added. On the palate, juicy and structured – polished tannin, cool fruit, long silky-mineral finish.
- Food: Duck breast with pine nuts, rack of lamb with herb crust, mature goat cheese
- Temperature: 16–17 °C
