Southern Valleys Pinot Noir

Southern Valleys Pinot Noir
A Pinot Noir that shows what New Zealand's Marlborough region can do beyond Sauvignon Blanc: cool, precise, with real depth.
Nautilus Estate is one of Marlborough's established wineries. The grapes for their Southern Valleys Pinot Noir come from the eponymous side valleys south of Blenheim – cooler sites with longer ripening periods that give the Pinot Noir the necessary structure and freshness.
Medium ruby red in the glass. The nose is delicately spicy and clear: violets, rose petals, dark cherry, and a hint of cassis. With a little aeration, cocoa, black tea, and subtle roasted notes emerge. On the palate, juicy and structured – polished tannins, cool fruit, and a long, silky-mineral finish.
