Sancerre Blanc

A dry Sauvignon Blanc from the upper Loire that focuses on freshness and minerality. Domaine Hubert Brochard combines the three great terroirs of the appellation in this Sancerre Blanc: Blanches, Caillottes, and Silex.

The Blanches lie on limestone marl, the Caillottes on limestone gravel, and the Silex on flint. Each of these soils sets its own accents; together, they give the wine complexity and a clear, stony line.

In the glass, exotic fruits appear alongside citrus notes, plus an elegant scent of white flowers. On the palate, the wine feels zesty and juicy, with the minerality carrying it through to the finish. This suits a light summer evening on the terrace just as well as it does food: the classic of the region is goat cheese like Crottin de Chavignol. Oysters, steamed or grilled fish, and green asparagus also harmonize with it. Serve it at 8 to 10 °C.

The Domaine

Domaine Hubert Brochard

In the heart of Sancerre – where the hills of the Loire sweep towards the horizon in sweeping lines – the Brochard family has been cultivating for generations what makes this appellation so distinctive: Sauvignon Blanc of mineral precision and Pinot Noir with velvety depth.

Hubert Brochard shaped the winery with a keen sense of terroir and craftsmanship. The wines tell the story of the flint and limestone beneath the vines – fresh, vibrant, unmistakably Loire.
