San Salvagio Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG

San Salvagio Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the classic red wine addresses of Tuscany — and the Riserva from Tenuta San Salvagio shows why this DOCG has been setting standards for centuries.
Tenuta San Salvagio cultivates vineyards around Montepulciano in southern Tuscany, where the Sangiovese grape, known locally as Prugnolo Gentile, develops a distinctive character: more structure, more depth, and greater aging potential than in many other parts of the region. As a Riserva, this wine undergoes an extended aging period—beyond the already required two years—before it is released for sale.
In the glass, it displays dark cherry and blackberry, underpinned by leather, dried herbs, and a hint of tobacco. The tannins are present but well-integrated; the acidity gives the wine structure and length. The finish is warm and lingering.
