The Clemens Busch winery is one of the most well-known addresses on the Mosel. The steep slopes around Pünderich are characterized by gray Devonian slate – a soil type that gives Rieslings this characteristic, cool-salty minerality, which is clearly evident in the Vom grauen Schiefer.

Initially restrained on the nose: liquorice, stone fruit, a hint of spice. The actual character unfolds in the mouth – compact minerality that pushes the fruit (apricot, mirabelle, a quiet apple tone) into the background without suppressing it. The body feels juicy and powerful at the same time, the acidity is ripe and well-integrated, the finish long and straightforward.
