Riesling QbA dry

An uncomplicated Palatinate Riesling that impresses with lively acidity and clear fruit – ideal for everyday use without compromising on character.

The Kranz winery operates in the Palatinate, one of Germany's warmest wine regions, with its characteristic red sandstone and limestone soils. Riesling QbA stands for approachable drinking pleasure with regional expression – vinified dry to clearly highlight the fruit.

In the glass, the 2024 vintage displays aromas of citrus peel, green apple, and white peach, underpinned by a hint of herbal spice. The acidity is fresh and lively, the finish clean and short – a wine that doesn't require long waiting but brings immediate pleasure.

The Kranz winery in Ilbesheim on the Southern Wine Route is run by the fourth generation of the winemaking family, guided by the motto: "Craftsmanship, Origin, Attitude". Admitted to the VDP in 2012, it is now one of the most distinguished producers in the Palatinate.

Boris Kranz, who has run the winery since 1990, cultivates 25 hectares of vineyards around the Kleine Kalmit mountain – 100 percent organically. Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc each account for a quarter of the area, complemented by Chardonnay and other varieties.

The wines are straightforward, age-worthy, and distinctive. From the delicate Riesling to the juicy Pinot Blanc and the crisp Pinot Noir – here speaks the signature of a winemaker who prioritizes precision and terroir. A true example of modern Palatinate winemaking.
