Olio Extra Vergine DOP Valle del Belice

The Olio Extra Vergine DOP Valle del Belice comes from northwestern Sicily, more precisely from the Trapani region – the heartland of the Nocellara del Belice olive variety. This olive variety is the basis of the protected designation of origin Valle del Belice and may be pressed as a single varietal.

Centonze processes exclusively Nocellara olives from this narrowly defined region. The oil has aromas of fresh grass, tomato vine, and artichoke – typical characteristics of an early-harvested, polyphenol-rich pressing. On the palate, it offers a medium-fruity character with a slightly peppery finish.

Versatile in the kitchen: use it over fried fish or meat, with vegetables and soups. Do not use for high-heat frying – its aroma is best enjoyed cold or lukewarm.
