Moulin de Duhart Pauillac

The Moulin de Duhart is the second wine of Château Duhart-Milon, the only Rothschild estate in Pauillac on the left bank of the Médoc. It shows what this appellation is all about – without the long waiting times of its big brother.

Duhart-Milon is located in the heart of Pauillac, on the same plateau as Lafite Rothschild. The Rothschild family took over the estate in 1962 and has consistently focused it on quality ever since. The Moulin de Duhart is vinified from younger vines and selected plots – Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, complemented by Merlot.

In the glass: deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, sour cherry and pomegranate, plus a hint of graphite and dark chocolate. On the palate, a dense, lush start, medium to strong tannins, well-integrated wood note with hints of praline and cedarwood. The finish is long, with fresh acidity that provides structure.

Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs with rack of lamb with herb crust, braised beef shank, or aged cheddar.
