Château Duhart-Milon

Château Duhart-Milon
The Duhart-Milon 2021 is a classic Pauillac: dense, structured, with the long breath of a wine that needs time – and rewards those who give it to it.
Château Duhart-Milon has belonged to the Rothschild family since 1962 and is located right next to the famous Lafite. The vines stand on typical Pauillac soils: deep gravel over limestone, which stores heat and forces the roots to dig deep. The result is wines with backbone and minerality – it is no coincidence that Duhart-Milon was classified as a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
In the glass, the 2021 shows aromas of blackcurrant and plum, underpinned by cedar wood and a hint of graphite. The tannins are present but fine-grained – not pressure, but structure. The finish is long, with a subtle spice that is typical for the appellation.
- Temperature: 17–18 °C, decant for at least an hour
- Pairs with: Rack of lamb with herb crust, entrecôte, mature Comté

Château Duhart-Milon-Rothschild
Château Duhart-Milon is located in the heart of Pauillac – right next to the legendary Château Lafite Rothschild, to whose family it has belonged since 1962. This proximity is no coincidence, but rather a deliberate choice: the same meticulous care, the same pursuit of precision, the same love for the Médoc.
As the only Quatrième Grand Cru Classé owned by the Rothschilds, Duhart-Milon combines classic Pauillac power with an elegant, almost understated style. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grow here on typical gravel and clay soils – the result is wines with depth, dark fruit, and a long, smooth finish. Wines that deserve – and reward – time.
