Monsenese Chianti Classico Riserva

The grapes for the Monsenese Chianti Classico Riserva grow in the Monsenese vineyard in San Leonino di Castellina in Chianti, at an altitude of approximately 400 meters above sea level. The wine matures for two years in 300-liter barriques and then for a further period in the bottle. The finished wine displays the typical dark red color with garnet reflections. Its bouquet is straightforwardly fruity and concentrated, before developing a mineral character. On the palate, it is fresh and spicy, enhanced by pronounced tannins. Complex aromas emerge, ranging from currants and blackberries to leather and licorice. A magnificent Riserva from the historic Chianti region! San Leonino

From Farm to Modern Craftsmanship: As its history reveals, San Leonino was founded on an independent and self-sufficient feudal farm. The estate produced everything the community living there needed. Over the years, this aspect of the independent farm has continued into modern times, making it a small, niche winery for the Bertani Domains group, where limited wine production is prioritized with artisanal care and attention.
