La Masia Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

A Catalan woman who coaxes the best from Pinot Noir in the coolest corner of California – that's Marimar Torres , daughter of the legendary Torres winemaking family from Penedès. Her Marimar Estate winery lies in the western hills of the Russian River/Green Valley, where morning mists from the Pacific and cool nights allow the grapes to ripen slowly and aromatically. She deliberately built the winery in 1992 in the style of a Catalan farmhouse – La Masía, the house.

100% Pinot Noir from the estate's own Don Miguel Vineyard, hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented, and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels – crafted with the finesse of a winemaker who knows Burgundy as well as Sonoma. Daughter Cristina has been running the winery since 2023.

A deep cherry red in the glass. The nose opens with raspberry, pomegranate, and a hint of sassafras and coffee – classic Russian River Valley, instantly familiar. Silky and round on the palate, with fine tannins, perfect balance, and a long, spicy finish.

Served at 14–16 °C with 14.0% alcohol by volume. A natural accompaniment to duck breast, mushroom risotto and aged cheese – Burgundian in style, Californian in spirit.
