Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva Magnum

Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva Magnum
This Chianti Classico Riserva comes exclusively from the Tenuta Tignanello — one of the most famous estates in Tuscany, which has stood for the quality of Sangiovese in Chianti Classico for decades. Twelve months of barrique aging give the wine structure and depth without masking its origin.
In the glass, it shows dark cherry, plum, and a hint of dried herbs — typical for Sangiovese on the Galestro and Alberese soils of Chianti Classico. The vanilla from the wood aging blends in subtly, the tannin is present but well integrated. The finish is long and spicy.
The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the standard bottle — the ratio of wine volume to oxygen permeability is more favorable, which gives the wine more time and uniformity during development.
- Temperature: 16–18 °C, ideally decanted for 30 minutes
- Food: Florentine Bistecca, wild boar salami, mature Pecorino Toscano
- Occasion: Large group, festive table — the magnum makes a good impression at the table

Since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine guild of winemakers, this family has been writing Tuscan wine history – now in its 26th generation. Tenuta Tignanello, the heart of Chianti Classico between the Greve and Pesa valleys, became a laboratory for a quiet revolution in the 1970s: Here, Tignanello, the first Sangiovese aged in barriques, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, without any white grapes, was created – a wine that redefined Italian winemaking. On 319 hectares, with vineyards at altitudes of 350 to 400 meters, the estate continues to combine tradition and modernity to produce wines deeply rooted in the soil of their homeland.
