Malterdingen Chardonnay QW Baden 0.75L

The Malterdinger Chardonnay from Bernhard Huber shows how convincingly Chardonnay can thrive in Baden — with Burgundian style and a clear profile of origin.

The Bernhard Huber winery in Malterdingen is considered one of the defining addresses for Burgundy grape varieties in Germany. The limestone soils around Malterdingen provide the Chardonnay with a mineral contour that keeps the wine away from a broad, heavy style. Careful use of wood brings additional texture without overpowering the fruit.

In the glass, ripe yellow fruit appears — mirabelle, white peach — with hints of hazelnut and a touch of butter pastry. The palate is full-bodied but tightly framed by a lively acidity. The finish remains long and slightly mineral.

Best served at 11–13 °C. Pairs well with zander fillet with beurre blanc, chicken in cream sauce, or a ripe Comté.
