Malecon Chocolate rum-based spirit
A rum liqueur that combines Caribbean craftsmanship with dark chocolate — for those who like to drink classic rum with an aromatic twist.
Malecon is a Panamanian rum producer known for its multi-stage aging process and meticulous barrel selection. The base of this liqueur is molasses rum, distilled in a column still and aged for up to six years in American ex-bourbon barrels. Only after this aging period is the natural flavoring with cocoa and chocolate added—not a synthetic flavoring, but an addition built upon an already mature rum.
The glass reveals notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, and roasted cocoa, underscored by typical bourbon barrel influences: caramel and a hint of coconut in the background. The finish is smooth and sweet, with a slight bitter note of dark chocolate.
Neat over ice as a digestif, briefly chilled as a dessert accompaniment to chocolate mousse, or as the base for a simple cocktail: with cold brew coffee and an ice cube.

Nestled between tropical rainforests and Caribbean beaches, Malecon produces rums that instantly transport you to the soul of the Caribbean. In Panama, where a perfect climate and centuries-old traditions converge, liquid gold matures – handcrafted to perfection, steeped in history. The philosophy: time, patience, and respect for nature. Aged in American oak barrels under the warm sun, the rum develops its full complexity. Whether it's the 12-year-old with its velvety vanilla, the 15-year-old with tropical fruits and spices, or the 21-year-old with its aristocratic depth – every drop tells the story of the Caribbean. Pure joie de vivre in a bottle.
