Magari Bolgheri DOC 0.375L

The Magari from Ca'Marcanda is a dense, juicy red wine from Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, vinified dry and here in the handy 0.375-liter format. The bottle is just right if you want to fill an evening for two with a good meal.

The 2023 vintage began cool and rainy, after which stable conditions set in. A hot midsummer was balanced by rain in August, and the harvest began on August 20. The result is grapes with clear acidity, fine structure and moderate alcohol. The blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot was vinified separately and aged for 16 to 18 months in wood.

On the nose, salty hints, floral notes, fresh wood, oregano and aromatic herbs appear. On the palate, the wine feels dense and juicy, with ripe fruit, floral nuances of rose and violet and fine chocolate tones in the finish. The character is maritime-influenced.

Recommendation: With rack of lamb with rosemary, grilled beef steak or pasta with game ragout. Serve it at 16 to 18 °C.
