Le Perréon Beaujolais Villages
Beaujolais can be more than just Primeur — this Villages wine from Domaine de la Madone proves it with every bottle.
The winery is located in the village of Le Pérréon , in the heart of the Beaujolais Villages zone, where granitic soils give the Gamay grapes a mineral depth rarely found in simpler appellations. Domaine de la Madone is considered one of the region's most reliable producers—with ratings of 91 to 92 points (James Suckling, Wine Advocate), its wines have repeatedly proven their quality.
Blackberry and mulberry aromas appear in the glass, along with a distinct licorice note that gives the wine depth. On the palate, it is surprisingly concentrated for a Villages wine: juicy acidity keeps the fruit vibrant, fine tannins provide support without dominating, and the finish is long and lingering.
Chill it to 14–16 °C — Beaujolais Villages unfolds its strengths slightly chilled. Ready to drink now, but will keep perfectly well for another 2–3 years.
- Charcuterie platter, Lyoner rosette or country terrine
- Grilled poultry, lamb chops
- Mature Comté or young goat cheese
Six generations, one passion, one conviction: Domaine de la Madone is one of the most enduring wineries in the heart of Beaujolais. The Després family has been cultivating their vineyards around Fleurie for over a century – with the quiet confidence of those who know the potential of their granite terroir.
The wines are what good Beaujolais should be: fruity, vibrant, with real depth . The Vieilles Vignes, in particular, made from 70- to 100-year-old vines, demonstrates what this often underestimated Cru is truly capable of.
