Laphroaig Quarter Cask Single Malt Whiskey
Laphroaig Quarter Cask whisky boasts a radiant golden color with peaty aromas and hints of coconut and banana. On the palate, this whisky is robust and smoky, yet possesses an alluring subtle sweetness. The finish is very long and dry, with lingering smoke and spice. Laphroaig Quarter Cask is initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then transferred for a short period to smaller, quarter casks for further maturation. At 48% ABV, it is a strong whisky, but its subtle sweetness makes it pleasantly smooth. It is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks. Laphroaig comes from the south coast of Islay and means "the beautiful hollow by a broad bay" in the island's Gaelic dialect – a name that perfectly captures the essence of this distillery: raw, direct, and deeply rooted in the local area. Since 1815, they have been distilling with peat from the Islay bogs, and the single malt truly lives up to its nickname, "Peat Monster." No other Scottish whisky holds the Royal Warrant, personally granted to the distillery by Prince Charles in 1994. Today, Laphroaig is the best-selling whisky on Islay – polarizing, distinctive, and uncompromising.
