Inglenook Blancaneaux Rutherfold AVA, Napa County 0.75L
A white Rhône blend from the heart of the Napa Valley — unusual for a region more associated with Cabernet Sauvignon, but that is exactly what makes the Blancaneaux interesting.
Inglenook is one of the historic estates of Rutherford: founded in 1879, later revitalized by Francis Ford Coppola, and today repositioned as a serious winery with a clear sense of style. The Blancaneaux is Coppola's personal project — named after his finca in Belize — and is based on Marsanne, supplemented by other white Rhône varieties. Rutherford AVA provides the warmth that gives these grape varieties ripeness and body.
In the glass, it shows a full-bodied wine with aromas of apricot, lemon curd, and dried flowers, plus a nutty-toasty background. The acid structure keeps the wine lively without breaking the creamy texture — typical for well-made Marsanne with some body and melt.
Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs with lobster bisque, pan-fried turbot with beurre blanc, or a ripe Brie de Meaux. Also a good choice as a standalone aperitif with some substance.
