Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen Riesling Kabinett feinherb

The Wisselbrunnen vineyard lies halfway between Erbach and Hattenheim. "Fistula," Latin for "tube," gave the vineyard its current name. The 18-hectare site primarily features lighter, tertiary marl soils, similar to the adjacent Hattenheim Nussbrunnen vineyard. Deep loess deposits also run through Wisselbrunnen, ensuring exceptionally good water retention. The ample water supply of the three "spring vineyards"—Marcobrunn, Wisselbrunnen, and Nussbrunnen—as the "spring" in their names suggests, promotes vine growth. The water originates from the adjacent Taunus mountains and also brings essential nutrients and minerals to the vineyards. The perfectly healthy, hand-picked grapes were gently conveyed to the press using a grape conveyor belt and lightly crushed with a mill as they were being poured into the press to achieve more intense aroma extraction. The lees settled naturally by gravity, and only the clear, racked must was fermented in stainless steel tanks. At a temperature-controlled 16°C, an expressive fruitiness developed. The Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen Riesling Kabinett displays a seductive aroma of citrus fruits, apricots, and quince, promising richness, fruitiness, and abundant extract even on the nose. On the palate, the pronounced fruit is complemented by a fine mineral structure. The wine is further enhanced by its crystal-clear acidity.

Reinhartshausen Castle

Reinhartshausen Castle – associated with wine since 1189. The largest privately owned winery in the region, with approximately 80 hectares of its own vineyards. Famous sites such as Marcobrunn, Nussbrunnen, Wisselbrunnen, and the estate's own Erbacher Schlossberg. A particular highlight: Mariannenaue Island – a nature reserve, pristine, yet where viticulture is permitted. Over 25 percent of the total production comes from here. Today owned by the Lergenmüller family. Gault Millau 2021: 4 red grapes. The Rheingau as it should be.
