Recently, more and more producers are following the strategy of creating Riojas in a fruity style and with less wood. The internationally renowned Bodegas LAN is also following this trend and produces the Gran Dominio Reserva for Tierras y Vinas in a modern style. The grapes for this Rioja are purchased from friendly winemakers and vinified by the winemakers of Bodegas LAN.
The Reserva Gran Dominio consists mainly of Tempranillo supplemented with a little Garnacha and Mazuelo. The wine matures for 6 months in American and 6 months in French barriques and then for another 24 months in the bottle before the wine goes on sale. A beautiful Reserva with cherry in the color red with a hint of orange-brown. On the nose, soft fragrant vanilla and ripe red fruits. The taste is surprisingly velvety with plenty of aromas of cassis as well as blackberries.
