Glen Moray Speyside Single Malt Whiskey 15 Years

Glen Moray Speyside Single Malt Whiskey 15 Years
Two maturation paths, one goal: The Glen Moray 15 Years combines whisky from American oak casks with whisky from used Andalusian Oloroso sherry casks — first matured separately, then married.
The distillery is located in Elgin, in the heart of Speyside, one of Scotland's most densely populated whisky regions. Glen Moray is known for approachable, fruity and smooth Speyside whiskies that gain depth through longer maturation and sherry cask influence – without the pronounced peatiness of Islay whiskies.
Fifteen years of aging are clearly evident on the nose: dark chocolate, raisins, and dried apricot, along with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg from the Oloroso cask. On the palate, the American oak reveals itself with vanilla and soft caramel, before the sherry influence takes over with dry nuts and dark fruits. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with a lingering warmth.
Neat at room temperature, it unfolds its full depth of flavor. For a slightly sweeter experience, add a small splash of still water. It pairs well with a piece of dark chocolate or a mature hard cheese in the evening.
