Franciacorta DOCG Brut

Franciacorta is Italy's answer to Champagne — with its own character and equally strict rules. The Brut from Mosnel combines 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Blanc, and 10% Pinot Noir into a sparkling wine that impresses with creamy perlage and clear freshness.

Mosnel is one of the traditional producers of the Franciacorta DOCG, south of Lake Iseo in Lombardy. The estate vinifies only its own harvested grapes and ages the Brut for at least 18 months on the lees in the bottle — this is the foundation for the fine brioche note that distinguishes the wine from simpler sparkling wines.

The nose reveals citrus zest, almonds, and white flowers, underscored by a hint of brioche. On the palate, the perlage is creamy and well-integrated, the acidity is fresh without sharpness, and the finish is dry and mineral. Serving temperature: 7–9 °C.

As an aperitif with salted almonds or paper-thin slices of Parma ham, it is a safe choice. It also pairs well with risotto, steamed cod, or mild goat cheese.
