False Bay Bush Vine Pinotage

The False Bay Bush Vine Pinotage from Waterkloof Wine Estate is a wine from South Africa's Western Cape that showcases what the rugged Atlantic coast around False Bay has to offer. Bush vines root deeply, producing concentrated, characterful grapes. The result is a Pinotage with real depth.

In the glass, it shines a rich ruby red. The bouquet offers dark fruits: blackcurrant, ripe plum, and a hint of blackberry. A subtle vanilla note complements this, lending the wine a soft, inviting warmth. On the palate, it is round and vibrant, with juicy fruit and a long, pleasantly spicy finish – awarded a silver medal at Mundus Vini (2018 vintage).

Drink it with grilled food , hearty stews, or a mature hard cheese. Those who know and appreciate Pinotage will find here a particularly approachable yet characterful interpretation of this South African specialty.

Waterkloof Wine Estate

Waterkloof – here everything revolves around the vineyards. Organic and biodynamic methods, inspired by sustainable practices of the Old World, keep the vines in balance. Cows, sheep, goats, chickens – they all provide natural fertilizer, help with weed control, and make chemicals superfluous.

The soils are free of chemicals, enriched with plant extracts, fungi, and bacteria from their own compost. The vines root deeper than five meters – real terroir in the glass.

The vineyards are located five kilometers from the sea, at an altitude of 270 to 300 meters. Sandstone soils with medium-sized stones store water and ensure balance. 21-year-old vines that deliver intense character.
