Duo de Conseillante
Duo de Conseillante is the second wine of Château La Conseillante — an entry into one of the most elegant styles of the right bank of Bordeaux, without the price tag of the Grands Vins.
Château La Conseillante lies in the heart of Pomerol, right on the border with Saint-Émilion. The estate has been owned by the Nicolas family since 1871 and vinifies on some of the most sought-after clay soils in the appellation. The Duo is made from younger vines and parcels that are not used for the main wine—the same meticulous care, but in a more compact format.
This blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc displays aromas of violets, red cherry, and a hint of plum. On the palate, it is soft and medium-bodied, with velvety tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the finish lively.
