Domaine de Chevalier Blanc

A white Pessac-Léognan that shows why the appellation has long been synonymous with world-class white wine for connoisseurs: dense structure, lively acidity, enormous aging potential.

Domaine de Chevalier is located in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, south of Bordeaux, in the middle of an old pine forest. The winery has belonged to the Bernard family since 1983, who continue to run it at the highest level. The white – a cuvée of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon – is aged in barriques and is one of the longest-lived dry white wines in France.

In the glass, the 2019 shows aromas of citrus oil, gooseberry, and ripe stone fruit, plus floral hints and a fine creamy depth. The texture is silky and layered, the mouthfeel full-bodied without heaviness. The acidity is precise and chalky-structured – it gives the wine tension and freshness without being sharp. The finish is long, mineral, with a slight hint of white peach.
