Deserteur Grand Zero Riesling dealcoholized German wine 0.75L
A Riesling from one of the most famous vineyards in the Rheingau — without alcohol, but with the full character of its origin. The Deserteur Grand Zero from Bibo Runge shows that dealcoholization does not have to mean a sacrifice in quality if the starting material is right.
Bibo Runge is one of the independent voices in the Rheingau: small production quantities, consistent hand-picking, clear focus on Riesling. The grapes for this wine come from the Hallgartener Jungfer, a Grosse Lage on weathered phyllite slate — a soil that gives the Riesling its typical minerality and tension. After selective harvesting, the wine is dealcoholized without sacrificing the aromatic substance of the vineyard.
In the glass, the classic Rheingau Riesling line appears: aromas of citrus zest, white peach, and a hint of quince, underscored by fine slate spice. The acidity remains lively and gives the wine structure — not a flat grape juice, but a wine with backbone.
Serving temperature 8–10 °C. Pairs with grilled fish, Asian dishes with lemongrass complexity, or light vegetable quiches — and anywhere a full-bodied white wine is required, but no alcohol.
