David & Nadia Grenache Noir

David & Nadia Grenache Noir
Grenache from the Swartland – it sounds unusual, but tastes convincing. David & Nadia Sadie are among the winemakers who have redefined this wild, windswept region in western South Africa.
The David & Nadia winery works with old, dry-trained vines on the granite and schist soils of the Swartland. Their philosophy: minimal intervention in the cellar, maximum expression of the terroir. Spontaneous fermentation, gentle aging – the wine should speak, not the winemaker.
In the glass, the Grenache Noir displays the typical profile of the grape variety in a cool Swartland vintage: ripe raspberry and pomegranate, accompanied by dried herbs, a hint of lavender, and subtle earthy spice in the background. The body is medium-bodied, the tannins silky and fine – not a heavyweight, but a wine with elegance and drinkability. The finish reveals a lively acidity and mineral freshness.
