Crémant de Bourgogne Brut AOC
A Crémant that shows why Burgundy is capable of far more than still wine: fresh, precise and with genuine depth.
Françoise Chauvenet is a traditional Négociant house from Nuits-Saint-Georges in the heart of Burgundy. The Crémant de Bourgogne may only be made from grapes of the AOC Bourgogne — here as a cuvée of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, just like with Champagne; Chauvenet lets the wine mature on the lees for an average of 18 months, significantly longer than the legal minimum. This is the reason for the creamy texture and the complexity in the glass.
In the bouquet, the wine opens with gooseberry, green apple and honeydew melon, plus lime and candied lemon. On the palate, the picture is confirmed: crisp Granny Smith apple, ripe pear, a hint of white peach — all integrated into a fine, creamy perlage with precise acidity. The finish shows medium length with mineral accents and a touch of lemon zest.
As an aperitif or with oysters, goat cheese and light fish dishes. Drinking temperature: 7–9 °C.
