Côte de Beaune Rouge AC 0.75L
A classic Burgundy from one of the most renowned négociant addresses in the Côte d'Or: The Côte de Beaune Rouge from Joseph Drouhin shows what Pinot Noir from the heart of Burgundy can achieve — without noise, without heaviness.
Maison Joseph Drouhin was founded in Beaune in 1880 and today cultivates around 78 hectares of its own vineyards in Burgundy and Oregon. The Côte de Beaune is the southern segment of the Côte d'Or, known for Pinot Noir with a slightly softer structure and riper fruit than the Côte de Nuits further north. In the glass, a deep violet-red, typical of the 2022 vintage—a warm, sun-drenched year with concentrated wines.
On the nose, strawberry and redcurrant, with a hint of undergrowth and violet. Medium-bodied on the palate, velvety tannins, lively acidity—the lightness characteristic of Burgundy is retained. Dry, pleasantly long finish with a subtle mineral note.
Best served at 14–16 °C . Pairs well with duck breast with cherries, coq au vin, or a mature Époisses. Also a solid choice as an uncomplicated Burgundy for a pleasant midweek evening.
