Corton AC Grand Cru 0.75L

Corton is the only Grand Cru appellation of the Côte de Beaune that produces red Burgundy at a high level — and Maison Joseph Drouhin has been one of the most reliable interpreters of this site since 1880. The house from Beaune has been working with vines on the Corton hill for decades and is known for a style that does not pit power and finesse against each other, but brings them together.

In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a deep ruby color with violet reflections. On the nose, dark cherries and blackberries unfold, underlaid by rose petals and a mineral undertone, as is typical for the iron-rich soils of the Corton hill. On the palate, the wine appears dense but not heavy: ripe, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish with hints of clove and fine humus.

With potential for even more depth after further cellar aging. Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. At the table, it pairs well with braised beef shoulder, Coq au Vin, or an aged Époisses.
