Conceito Contraste White
A Douro white wine that shows what the region can do beyond its classic red wines: fresh, aromatic and with a clear connection to the terroir of the north.
Conceito is a small family project in the upper Douro Valley, founded by Rita and Carlos Agrellos. The idea behind the label: to make contrasts visible—between old grape varieties and modern winemaking, between power and freshness. For their Contraste White, they rely on indigenous white grape varieties that have been rooted in this rocky, slate-strewn landscape for generations.
In the glass, it displays a pale yellow, vibrant color. The nose offers aromas of Granny Smith apple, bergamot, and a hint of white blossoms—light yet present. On the palate, a pleasant acidity emerges, keeping the wine lean and easy to drink without sacrificing substance. The finish is short and spicy with a lemony freshness.
