Cobue Chiaretto Rosé

A Chiaretto from Lake Garda – this is not just any rosé, but a style with its own character: light in color, delicate in structure, but aromatically precise.

The Cobue Chiaretto Rosé comes from the Riviera del Garda Classico appellation, where Groppello, Sangiovese, and Barbera grapes are used to create one of the most elegant rosé wines in Northern Italy. The region on the western shore of Lake Garda is known for its mild climate, which allows for aromatic finesse and vibrant acidity in perfect harmony.

On the nose, it displays rose petals, peach blossom, red currant, and a hint of lychee – delicate without being overpowering. On the palate, it is soft and dry, with a beautiful structure that conveys more depth than one would expect from this color. The finish is aromatic and lingering.

Cobue

Cobue is located in Pozzolengo on the northern edge of the Garda moraine hills – precisely where Lombardy, Veneto, and the Po Valley meet. Since 1971, the Gettuli-Castoldi family has cultivated the 25-hectare estate, named after its vineyard site, Cobue Sopra, with 17 hectares of vines from their own vineyards. Winemaker Maurizio vinifies exclusively estate-grown grapes – primarily Turbiana, the flagship variety of the Lugana DOC. Reduced pruning, hand-harvesting, and fermentation in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation: this is the hallmark of a winery that prioritizes freshness and origin above all else. Decanter lists Cobue among the key producers of the Lugana DOC.
