Château Plince

Château Plince
Deep, dark ruby garnet with violet reflections — Château Plince 2021 already shows visually what makes Pomerol special: density, warmth and an unmistakable softness.
The estate cultivates 10 hectares on the right bank of the Dordogne, where clay-rich soils give the Merlot precisely the water retention capacity it needs for depth and richness. A classic Pomerol blend: Merlot as the backbone , complemented by Cabernet Franc for structure and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon for length.
On the nose, the 2021 vintage opens with dark red fruits—blackberry, black cherry—and a distinct chocolate note, suggesting careful use of oak barrels. On the palate, it displays the typical, velvety tannin structure of Pomerol: no harsh edges, but instead a rounded, inviting texture with a warm, slightly cocoa-spiced finish.
Drinking window: 2025–2033. Drinkable now, it will become even smoother with further aging.
Temperature: 16–18 °C, decant one hour beforehand.
Food: Roast lamb with herb crust, duck breast with plum sauce or strong hard cheese such as Ossau-Iraty.
