Chateau Maucoil Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc

White Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a rarity—only around five percent of the appellation is produced as a white wine. With this Blanc, Château Maucoil delivers an aromatically complex interpretation of this rare style.

The winery is located near Orange in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, amidst the typical galets roulés —the characteristic pebbly soils that store the warmth of the southern French day and release it slowly at night. The estate practices organic viticulture, which is reflected in the clear, precise aromatic profile of the wines.

In the glass, the Blanc displays a golden-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose opens with a citrusy line of bergamot and white grapefruit, followed by notes of white peach and dried garrigue herbs—thyme and a hint of lavender. The palate is full-bodied with good acidity that balances freshness and body. The finish is long and slightly mineral.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. At the table, it pairs well with grilled sea bass with fennel, langoustines with garlic butter, or a mature goat cheese from Provence. It's also a good choice as a standalone aperitif on a warm evening.

Château Maucoil

Château Maucoil is located in the heart of the southern French Rhône Valley – one of France's oldest wine-growing regions, known for centuries for powerful, characterful wines. The Château belongs to the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, where stony soils, intense sun, and the notorious Mistral give the grapes an unmistakable depth.

What is created here are wines with real temperament: dense, warm, and yet surprisingly elegant. A glass of Maucoil tells you about the power of this landscape – and what it means to make wine with respect for tradition.
