Chateau Filhot Sauternes 0.375L

Sauternes by the half bottle — ideal if you want to serve a sweet wine with dessert or cheese without opening a whole bottle. Château Filhot delivers a classic example of the appellation: fruity and sweet, with the lively acidity typical of Sauternes.

Château Filhot is one of the oldest estates in Sauternes and has been family-owned since the 18th century. The winery is located in the southern part of the appellation, not far from the town of Sauternes, about 40 kilometers southeast of Bordeaux. The blend consists of 60% Sémillon, 36% Sauvignon Blanc, and 4% Muscadelle—a typical Sauternes composition, where the Sémillon provides texture and the Sauvignon Blanc contributes freshness.

In the glass, the wine displays aromas of ripe apricot and white peach, complemented by almond and a hint of caramel. The sweetness is balanced by the integrated acidity, preventing it from feeling heavy—the finish is comparatively lively for a Sauternes.

Château Filhot

Château Filhot – this is Sauternes in its purest form, spanning over three centuries. Since 1709, a lusciously sweet wine has been cultivated here, in the south of the famous appellation, that makes time stand still.

The estate still belongs to the family of its founder, Romain de Filhot – today, Count Henri de Vaucelles manages the 350-hectare property with 62 hectares of vines. A Deuxième Cru Classé since 1855: an accolade that Filhot wears with pride, without resting on its laurels. What you'll find in the glass is golden depth – honey, ripe fruit, and that unmistakable freshness that makes a good Sauternes so unforgettable.
