Château de la Chesnaie Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie

The approximately ten hectares of vines at Château de la Chesnaie grow on warm loam and clay soils, which promote early ripening of the grapes. Delicate and fruity, Château de la Chesnaie is best enjoyed in its youth, although it also possesses sufficient potential for a few years of aging. Color: pale straw yellow with silvery reflections. Aroma: a very fresh, distinctly fruit-forward bouquet of white peach, nectarines, citrus fruits, also slightly exotic notes (pineapple, melon, lychee) and delicate hints of white blossoms (honeysuckle) before subtle toasty aromas (freshly toasted white bread) and a touch of sea air. Taste: crystal clear on the palate with an invigorating, crisp acidity that lends the wine lightness, power, and vibrancy. A very long finish with a tart, fruity aftertaste of grapefruit and lemon immediately leaves you wanting more!

The delivered wine was flawless, as expected and well packed: Thanks...!

Unfortunately, the goods were delivered to the neighbor on the ground floor, even though we were at home (on the 5th floor with an elevator...!). As a result, we only received the goods a week late...

Would not buy again, taste-wise meaningless/flat/uninteresting and too expensive for that

Something like that would not be dared to be offered as Muscadet sur Lie in France.

The healthy, aromatically ripe Muscadet grapes are immediately brought to the winery, gently pressed in pneumatic presses, and then the must is pre-clarified through cold sedimentation before being traditionally fermented for approximately two to three weeks. According to AOC regulations, the wine remains on its fine lees throughout the entire aging process, from fermentation to bottling. The traditional bâtonnage, the regular stirring of the lees, further enhances the fruit expression and gives the wine an even more elegant richness and balance. After completing its aging (at least four months), the Muscadet is bottled directly from the lees at Château de la Chesnaie in the spring of the following year and released for sale.
