Chablis Premier Cru Montmains AC 0.75L

The Montmains is one of the best-known Premier Cru sites of Chablis — a slope of pure Kimmeridgian limestone that gives this Chardonnay that unmistakable mineral austerity for which the Chablisien is famous. Maison Joseph Drouhin, rooted in Beaune since 1880 and also active in the north of Burgundy for decades, cultivates the site with the ambition of letting the soil speak, not the cellar.

In the glass, it shows a bright golden yellow. The nose opens with green apple, white peach, and a clear citrus accent — behind this lies that typical Chablis note of wet pebbles and oyster shell, which Premier Cru sites from Montmains express so precisely. On the palate, the wine appears lean and taut, with lively acidity that carries the body without stinging. The finish is long, salty, and mineral.

Served at 10–12 °C, it unfolds its full potential. Classic with oysters, scallops, or a sole fish with caper butter — but it also cuts a fine figure with goat cheese or a simple roast chicken.
