Carlos Serres Blanco
Carlos Serres Blanco comes from Rioja — a region primarily known for its red wines, but which is increasingly producing exciting white wines. Fresh, clearly structured, and uncomplicated in the best sense.
Bodegas Carlos Serres is one of the oldest wineries in Rioja Alta: founded in 1896 by the French winemaker Charles Serres, the estate boasts over 125 years of experience. The winery in Haro—the historic heart of Rioja Alta—combines traditional craftsmanship with modern winemaking techniques.
In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow color. The nose offers fresh citrus notes, green apple, and a hint of white blossom. On the palate, it is lively and direct, with crisp acidity and a clean, short finish—a wine that doesn't make a fuss but delivers exactly what it promises.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Pairs well with tapas, grilled fish, seafood, or light pasta dishes. Drink now—not a wine for aging, but a reliable everyday companion.

There are wineries that simply cultivate a region – and there are those that have helped shape it. Carlos Serres undoubtedly belongs to the latter category. Founded in 1896 in Haro, the historic heart of the Rioja Alta, the winery is one of the few truly centenarian bodegas in the region. Its founder, the Frenchman Charles Serres, once brought the elegance of Bordeaux to the Roussillon of the Rioja – and combined it with the power and tradition of the Spanish terroir. This blend of French finesse and typical Rioja character remains the house's quiet signature to this day.
To this day, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano primarily ripen in the vineyards around Haro – grape varieties that have been linked to the region's winemaking families for generations. The aging process takes place traditionally in French and American oak barrels, which gives the wines their typical balance of structure and fruit. Anyone who opens a bottle of Carlos Serres is also drinking a piece of Rioja history: the house was instrumental in the founding of the export syndicate of 1907, from which the official Rioja regulatory authority later emerged. Thus, this winery continues to combine tradition, pioneering spirit, and the signature of a terroir that can be tasted in every glass.
