Cannonau di Sardegna DOC

Cannonau is Sardinia's very own answer to Grenache — genetically related, but having become something of independent character due to the Mediterranean island climate and the old soils of the Nuoro plateau. Audarya, one of the island's most ambitious wineries, works with autochthonous vine material and brings the grape variety to the glass in its most direct, honest form.

Ruby red with a violet shimmer, slightly transparent — not a constructed wine, but a lively one. On the nose, ripe blackberry, pomegranate, and macchia herbs: rosemary, thyme, a hint of dried lavender. On the palate, juicy berry fruit, well-structured tannin without harshness, and an alcohol content that blends seamlessly into the overall picture. The finish is long-lasting, slightly salty-mineral — typical for Sardinia.

Classically with roast lamb with a herb crust or aged Pecorino Sardo. Also with wild boar salami, pasta with ragù, or grilled lamb from the grate. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.
