Camus XO "Intensely Aromatic" is a cognac from France, distilled from Ugni Blanc and bottled at 40% ABV. It stands for a mature, dense style with a long, spicy finish and belongs to the cognacs that one drinks consciously and without haste.

Camus is a cognac house with a long tradition that understands the XO as an expression of its signature. The Ugni Blanc grape variety is the classic basis for the brandy in the Cognac region: it provides acidic, neutral wines from which fine aromas can develop after distillation. In the glass, ripe fruit and dried fruit combine with finely integrated cask spice, accompanied by vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, it feels smooth and full without tipping into heavy sweetness. The aromas lie close together; nothing stands out harshly in the foreground. The finish remains long and spicy, with a quiet cocoa note that lingers for a long time.

It unfolds best in a nosing glass at room temperature. Give it some time in the glass, and the layers will show themselves little by little. Classically, it fits as a conclusion after a meal, for example with dark chocolate, walnuts, or dried figs, and just as well for a quiet evening for two.
