Caliterra Carmenere Tributo

Caliterra Tributo Carmenère — a wine for those who truly want to understand Chile. Not an easy entry-level wine, but a serious red wine from the Colchagua Valley that demonstrates why the Carmenère grape has reached true greatness in its adopted South American home.

The Viña Caliterra winery, founded by Eduardo Chadwick and born from the partnership of two wine dynasties—Chadwick and Mondavi—is dedicated to the Chilean terroir. The Tributo is the result: hand-picked Carmenère grapes, vinified with great care and aged in French oak barrels . James Suckling awarded the 2021 vintage an impressive 91 points .

In the glass, it displays a deep violet-red color. The nose is harmonious and complex at the same time: black fruits, coffee, spices, and a hint of toasted bread . On the palate, it is powerful and full-bodied, with a mild tannin structure and a beautiful finish.
Open it with a piece of grilled beef, a hearty pot roast, or simply for an evening that deserves more than an ordinary wine.

Caliterra

Caliterra – a play on words combining "la calidad de la tierra," meaning soil quality. This Chilean wine was born in 1996. The idea: to unite innovation with the finest Chilean fruits. In the warm valleys of Colchagua, Maipo, and Casablanca, the grapes grow on vast tracts of land – each appellation with its own distinct character. The goal is to create wines of consistent quality without obscuring their origin. Fresh, distinctive, modern. Behind it all is Eduardo Chadwick-Errazuriz – a name synonymous with top-quality Chilean wines.
