Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne

The Corton-Charlemagne from Bonneau du Martray is one of the great white Burgundies — a cuvée that does not deny its origin on the famous hill between Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. The Domaine has been cultivating its plots on the Grand Cru for generations and is considered one of the most renowned producers of this site.

In the glass, the Chardonnay shows aromas of quince, bergamot zest, and a hint of dried herbs. With some air, subtle notes of pine nuts and honey emerge. The palate is characterized by powerful structure and clear precision — dense but well-integrated acidity, creamy texture, and a long, mineral finish that makes the limestone soils of the Grand Cru palpable.

Best served at 12–14 °C — with lobster in butter sauce, scallops, or a well-aged Poulet de Bresse. It also unfolds its full potential with sweetbreads or a robust fish dish with saffron sauce.
