Petit Caro

Malbec from Mendoza, refined by a Bordeaux signature — the Petit Caro shows what happens when two wine worlds work on equal footing.

Bodegas Caro is a joint project between Château Lafite Rothschild and the traditional Argentine house Nicolás Catena Zapata. This partnership brings together two of the most famous names in viticulture: the structured precision of Bordeaux and the powerful fruit of the Andes. The Petit Caro is the more accessible cuvée of this house — Malbec-dominated, with a small portion of Cabernet Sauvignon.

After about twelve months of aging in barriques, the wine shows aromas of dark plum, black currant, and a hint of cedar. The tannins are fine-grained and well-integrated, the body balanced, the finish fresh with a pleasant berry line. Not a heavyweight, but with clear substance.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Goes well with grilled rack of lamb, beef fillet with herb butter, or a spicy hard cheese.
