Petit Caro

Petit Caro
Malbec from Mendoza, refined by Bordeaux craftsmanship — the Petit Caro shows what happens when two wine worlds work on equal terms.
Bodegas Caro is a joint project between Château Lafite Rothschild and the renowned Argentinian winery Nicolás Catena Zapata. This partnership brings together two of the most prestigious names in winemaking: the structured precision of Bordeaux and the powerful fruit of the Andes. Petit Caro is the more approachable cuvée from this estate—Malbec-dominated, with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon.
After about twelve months of aging in barriques, the wine displays aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant, and a hint of cedar. The tannins are fine-grained and well-integrated, the body balanced, and the finish fresh with a pleasant berry note. Not heavy, but with clear substance.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb loin, beef fillet with herb butter, or a strong hard cheese. Drinking window: now until 2027.
