Campillo Reserva Colección

Campillo Reserva Colección
Campillo Reserva Colección is a high-quality red wine from the Rioja DOCa region of Spain, produced by Bodegas Campillo in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa. The wine is made almost exclusively from Tempranillo grapes and undergoes a longer aging process of at least 22 months in small American and French oak barrels, followed by additional bottle aging.
In the glass, it displays a deep cherry red color with a ruby rim. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of ripe black cherries, blackberries, dried plums, and currants, underpinned by distinct notes of vanilla, coffee, cocoa powder, tobacco, and light toast. On the palate, the Campillo Reserva Colección possesses good structure, clearly perceptible yet fine tannins, and an elegant, vibrant acidity that, despite its power, makes the wine appear fresh and balanced.
The finish is long, spicy, and harmonious, with lingering aromas of dark berries, toasty notes, and warm spice. This wine is ideal with grilled beef, lamb chops, braised dishes, game, or aged cheeses. It should be served at around 16–18 °C, preferably slightly decanted. Campillo Reserva Colección is considered an elegant, age-worthy Rioja with great potential, suitable for both special occasions and fine dining.
In the middle of a sea of vines rises a building like a French château. This is the dream of Julio Faustino Martínez, who brought the Bordeaux model to Rioja with Bodegas Campillo .
The heart of the estate consists of 50 hectares of vines planted with clay and limestone. Tempranillo, Graciano, and Viura grapes grow here. The grapes are harvested by hand.
Campillo wines are the foundation of the Faustino Group. Today, the estate is a major player in its own right in Spain's most famous wine region.
